About Our Scout Group

1st Coddington Scout Group has been serving the young people of Coddington, Nottinghamshire since 1938. For over 85 years, we have been committed to providing adventure, skills development, and character-building opportunities to generations of local youth.

Our History

Founded in 1938, our Scout Group has deep roots in the Coddington community. Through decades of change, we have remained committed to our core mission of helping young people develop skills for life through adventure, teamwork, and service to others.

Our historic Scout Hall on Main Road has been the heart of our activities, hosting countless meetings, camps, and community events over the years. It stands as a testament to the dedication of volunteers and supporters who have kept Scouting alive in Coddington.

Registered Charity

We are a registered charity (Charity Number 1034025), operating as a not-for-profit organization entirely run by dedicated volunteers. This charitable status means that all donations and fundraising go directly toward providing the best possible Scouting experience for young people in our community.

Volunteer-Run Organization

Our Scout Group is entirely volunteer-run. Every leader, helper, and committee member gives their time freely to ensure that young people in our community have access to high-quality Scouting. Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds but share a common commitment to developing young people's potential.

The Scouting Movement
